--> November 26th-27th: No School
--> Homework calendars are available under WELCOME TO KINDERGARTEN under the drop tab HOMEWORK. There is also a list of sight words that we have introduced so far this year. --> READING LOGS: Please check your child's reading log every night. I am sending home sight word reader books that you may add to your home book library. Please read these books with your child every night. Parents,
Beginning November 12th your child will receive paper sight word books to read at home every night. Please keep the paper sight word books that have your child's name on the front at home. Please read the books with your child every night. Your child will also have a reading log that they can record the title of the book they read, and if they had difficulty reading any of the words in the book. The reading logs will also include sight word cards. Please cut out the sight word cards and use as flashcards to review sight words. If you need an additional reading log please write a note and place the note in their take home folders. I have posted the homework calendar on the communication pages under homework. If you need a copy of the homework please download and complete. Please complete homework and turn it by Friday so your child's homework can be marked as complete. Please sign up for Teacher parent conferences by completing the sign-up sheet located in your child's communication folder.
Communicating with parents on a regular basis is very important. Parents need to know what happens in their child's classroom. Communicating through notes, agendas and/or newsletter creates a bridge between school life and home life. You want the parents and the students to know that the learning that happens at school needs to continue at home. I have the responsibility of creating newsletter this year. I used some clipart from TPT to create the templates. Welcome to all! I am excited about blogging my thoughts and ideas to the world. I would also like to offer my parents a place where they can see what their child is really doing EVERYDAY. I hope this offers insight into the everyday happening of my Kindergarten classroom.
